MAST STORAGE LAUNCHES A NEW DATA PROTECTION SOFTWARE WITH GOVAULT UNITS

Mast Storage launches the new GoVault Data Protection Solution. It is a new disk backup solution that incorporates an innovative software for Windows based on Data de-duplication technology.

Data de-duplication technology provides a simple, fast and extremely cost-effective solution by reducing the number of cartridges required for backups by up to 20:1.

GoVault, with Data de-duplication technology, holds 10 to 50 times more backup data than a traditional disk backup solution, depending on the backup process, the data being backed up and the length of time data is retained.

Data de-duplication technology operates at a block level, looking for and eliminating redundant data. So, when it finds a repeated block of data, it stores a pointer instead of storing the block again. Thus, Go Vault’s unique Data de-duplication technology allows for an increase in the number of backup data that can be stored on a single disk, as well as the number of available recovery points.
